IG Power Source Circuit
STEERING COLUMN: POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM: IG Power Source Circuit
- IG Power Source Circuit
DESCRIPTION
When the engine switch is turned on (IG), the IG power source circuit supplies positive voltage to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.
The multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU also receives engine switch signals via this circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT FUSE (ECU IG NO. 1)
(a) Remove the ECU IG No. 1 fuse from the instrument panel J/B.
(b) Measure the resistance of the ECU IG No. 1 fuse.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU (IG TERMINAL VOLTAGE)
(a) Disconnect the E79 connector from the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU - BODY GROUND)
(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU
