Installation
WIPER AND WASHER: FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Apply MP grease to the crank arm pivot of the wiper motor.
(b) Install the wiper motor.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
(c) Align the matchmarks on the crank arm and wiper motor.
(d) Install the washer and nut.
Torque: 17.2 Nm (175 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the link with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 5.5 Nm (56 kgf-cm, 49 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.
3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Attach the 8 claws to install the louver.
(b) Attach the 5 claws and install the 4 clips.
4. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM LH
(a) Stop the wiper at the automatic stop position.
(b) Clean the wiper arm serration with a round file or equivalent.
(c) Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.
(d) Install the arm and blade with the nut. Make sure that the arm and blade comes to the position shown in the illustration.
Torque: 22 Nm (220 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
5. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM RH
(a) Stop the wiper at the automatic stop position.
(b) Scrape off the wiper arm serration with a round file or equivalent.
(c) Clean the wiper pivot serration with a wire brush.
(d) Install the arm and blade with the nut. Make sure that the arm and blade comes to the position shown in the illustration.
Torque: 22 Nm (220 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
(e) Operate the wipers while spraying water or washer fluid on the windshield. Check the wiping condition and that the wiper does not hit against the vehicle body.
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
