SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 10 bolts and ornament.
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
(a) Remove the 5 nuts and wheel.
3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
4. LOOSEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Loosen the 2 bolts.
NOTE:
Do not remove the bolts.
5. DISCONNECT FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the shock absorber from the shock absorber bracket.
(b) Remove the nut and disconnect the height control sensor link from the shock absorber bracket.
6. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the stabilizer link from the stabilizer bar.
(b) Remove the nut and stabilizer link.
7. DISCONNECT RACK AND PINION POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 steering rack housing bracket.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the steering gear.
8. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Remove the cotter pin and nut.
(b) Using SST, disconnect the lower arm from the lower ball joint.
SST: 09628-62011
(c) Remove the bolt and shock absorber bracket from the lower arm.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the lower arm from the No. 2 suspension lower arm.
(e) Place matchmarks on the No. 2 camber adjusting cam and suspension cross member.
(f) Remove the nut, No. 2 camber adjusting cam, No. 1 camber adjusting cam and lower suspension arm.
