3UZ-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM: THROTTLE BODY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair





3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
(a) Remove the 2 nuts.
(b) Remove the 2 clips and cover.
4. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
(a) Remove the bolt and air cleaner inlet.
5. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE





(a) Disconnect the air hose and No. 1 ventilation hose.





(b) Loosen the 2 hose clamps and bolt, and remove the intake air connector.
6. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Disconnect the ventilation hose.
(c) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.





(d) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, throttle body and gasket.
