3UZ-FE EMISSION CONTROL: PURGE VALVE: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM
(a) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
(b) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(c) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(d) Turn the tester ON.
(e) Enter the following menus:
Select: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Activate the VSV for Evap Control.





(f) Start the engine. Disconnect the vacuum hose shown in the illustration.
(g) Check that a vacuum occurs at the VSV port.
(h) Exit Active Test mode and connected the vacuum hose.
(i) From the tester ECU DATA MONITOR mode, select PURGE VSV. Check operation of the purge VSV.
(j) Warm up the engine and drive the vehicle. Confirm that the purge VSV is turned from OFF to ON.
