Key Reminder Buzzer does not Sound
DESCRIPTION
When the driver door is opened with the ignition switch on ACC or OFF, this system sounds a buzzer to warn the driver that the ignition key has not been removed from the ignition key cylinder.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) Operate the ignition switch. Check if DTC B2780 is output.
Result:
B -- GO TO ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (KEY REMINDER BUZZER)
(a) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check the key reminder buzzer.
Combination Meter
OK:
Key reminder buzzer is sounding.
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK OPERATION OF FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
(a) Open the driver side door and check that the map light illuminates.
OK:
Map light illuminates.
NG -- GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
