Climate Control Exhaust Gas Sensor: Testing and Inspection








AIR CONDITIONING: SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR: INSPECTION

INSPECTION





1. INSPECT COOLER SENSOR (SMOG VENTILATION THERMISTOR)
(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to the terminal 4 (IG) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (GND).
(b) Apply battery positive voltage between terminals 1 and 4 for more than 30 seconds.
(c) Measure the resistance of the cooler.
Standard resistance:





IF the result is not as specified, replace the cooler.
HINT: When the cooler is exposed to the exhaust gas, the resistance goes down.
