3UZ-FE EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE: REMOVAL

REMOVAL
CAUTION:
- Wear protective gloves when removing the exhaust pipe.
- The exhaust pipe is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
- Confirm that the exhaust pipe has cooled down before removing it.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)
(a) Remove the 5 bolts and engine under cover.
(b) Remove the sensor.
3. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)
(a) Remove the sensor.
4. REMOVE TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, 4 rings, tailpipe and 2 gaskets.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 baffles from the tailpipe.
5. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR BRACE CENTER
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and floor brace.
6. REMOVE EXHAUST CENTER PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 nuts, 2 bolts, 2 rings, exhaust pipe and gasket.
7. REMOVE EXHAUST FRONT PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts, exhaust pipe and 2 gaskets.
8. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.
9. REMOVE CATALYST CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 6 nuts, 2 converters and 2 gaskets.
