3UZ-FE EXHAUST: EXHAUST MANIFOLD: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1)





(a) Place a new gasket on the cylinder head with the white mark facing the manifold side.
NOTE:
Be careful of the installation direction.





(b) Install the exhaust manifold with the 8 nuts. Uniformly tighten the nuts in several passes.
Torque: 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2)
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the bank 1 side.

3. INSTALL NO. 2 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR (for Bank 1)
(a) Install the insulator with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
4. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR (for Bank 2)
(a) Install the insulator with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
5. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)
(a) Using SST, install the oxygen sensor.
SST: 09224-00010
Torque: 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)for use with SST
Torque: 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)for use without SST
6. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)
(a) Using SST, install the oxygen sensor.
SST: 09224-00010
Torque: 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)for use with SST
Torque: 44 Nm (449 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)for use without SST
7. INSTALL ENGINE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the engine to the vehicle Installation.
