Microphone Circuit between Overhead J/B and Multi-display
DESCRIPTION
This circuit sends a microphone signal from the telephone microphone amplifier (overhead junction block) to the multi-display. It also supplies power from the multi-display to the telephone microphone amplifier.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE
(a) Disconnect the P12 microphone connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the microphone.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE AND MULTI-DISPLAY)
(a) Disconnect the M7 and M8 amplifier connectors.
(b) Disconnect the M6 display connector.
(c) Disconnect the P12 microphone connector.
(d) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER
(a) Remove the instrument cluster finish panel center.
(b) Measure the resistance of the panel.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY CENTER
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK OPERATION OF TELEPHONE MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER
(a) Replace the telephone microphone amplifier with a normal one.
(b) Check that the ignition switch can be turned ON and that voice recognition is normal.
OK:
Voice is recognition is normal.
NG -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
OK -- END (REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER)
