DTC B1443/43 - Air Outlet Damper Control Servo Motor Circuit
DESCRIPTION
This circuit turns the servo motor and changes each damper position by the signals from the A/C amplifier. When the AUTO switch is on, the A/C amplifier changes the mode automatically between (FACE), (BI-LEVEL) and (FOOT) according to the temperature setting.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AIR OUTLET DAMPER POSITION)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the air outlet damper position.
Air Conditioner
OK:
The display is as specified in the normal condition.
Result
C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTUATOR CHECK (AIR FLOW POSITION)
(a) Warm up the engine.
(b) Enter actuator check mode Actuator Check.
(c) Press the DEF switch and change it to step operation
(d) Press the DEF switch and check the air flow by hand.
OK:
Air flow position changes in accordance with each display code.
Result:
C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT MODE DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the damper servo.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the servo and check that the servo rotates smoothly.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE MODE DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MODE DAMPER SERVO - A/C AMPLIFIER)
(a) Disconnect the A19 servo connector.
(b) Disconnect the A8 amplifier connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
