Air Conditioning System

AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: B1423/23: Pressure Sensor Circuit

DTC B1423/23 - Pressure Sensor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The pressure switch sends appropriate signals to the ECM when the A/C refrigerant pressure drops too low or rises too high. When the ECM receives these signals, it signals to the A/C amplifier to turn the magnet clutch OFF.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK ECM (PRE, HP, VOLTAGE)

(a) Set the manifold gauge.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c) Measure the voltage of the connector.
Standard voltage:

Result

C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
ASSEMBLY

B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION
SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK PRESSURE SWITCH

(a) Disconnect the A3 switch connector.
(b) Set the manifold gauge.
(c) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(d) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE PRESSURE SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (PRESSURE SWITCH - ECM AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the A3 switch connectors.
(b) Disconnect the E5 and E6 ECM connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE ECM
