DTC B1422/22 - Compressor Lock Sensor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This sensor sends 4 pulses per engine revolution to the ECM. If the number ratio of the compressor speed divided by the engine speed is smaller than a predetermined value, the ECM turns the compressor OFF. Then the A/C indicator flashes at about 1 second intervals.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK ECM (LCKI VOLTAGE)




(a) Remove the ECM but do not disconnect the connector.
(b) Start the engine and push the AUTO switch.
(c) Measure the voltage of the connector.
Standard voltage:

C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
ASSEMBLY

B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION

A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT MAGNET CLUTCH ASSEMBLY (LOCK SENSOR)




(a) Disconnect the A2 clutch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the clutch.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE MAGNET CLUTCH ASSEMBLY (LOCK SENSOR)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAGNET CLUTCH - ECM AND BODY GROUND)




(a) Disconnect the A2 clutch connector.
(b) Disconnect the E2 ECM connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE ECM
