AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM: B1413/13: Evaporator Temperature Sensor Circuit

DTC B1413/13 - Evaporator Temperature Sensor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This sensor detects the temperature inside the A/C radiator and sends appropriate signals to the A/C amplifier.

WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the evaporator temperature sensor.

Air Conditioner

OK:
The display is as specified in the normal condition.

Result

C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (TE - SG-4 VOLTAGE)

(a) Remove the A/C amplifier but do not disconnect the connectors.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c) Measure the voltage of the connectors.
Standard voltage:

HINT: As the temperature increases, the voltage decreases.

Result

C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT NO. 1 COOLER THERMISTOR (A/C THERMISTOR)

(a) Remove the cooler thermistor.
(b) Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the thermistor at each temperature, as shown in the chart.
(c) Check that the resistance is between the table's "maximum permissible value line" and "minimum permissible value line" for each temperature.

OK:
Resistance is between the table's lines for each temperature.
NG -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (A/C AMPLIFIER - NO. 1 COOLER THERMISTOR)

(a) Disconnect the A8 and A9 amplifier connectors.
(b) Disconnect the A12 thermistor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
