C1243
BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1232/32: Stuck in Deceleration Sensor
DTC C1232/32 - Stuck in Deceleration Sensor
DTC C1243/43 - Acceleration Sensor Stuck Malfunction
DTC C1244/44 - Open or Short in Deceleration Sensor Circuit
DTC C1245/45 - Acceleration Sensor Output Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
This sensor detects deceleration on the vehicle. The sensor signal is used in ABS & BA & TRAC & VSC control. If the sensor functions abnormally, the ABS warning light turns on.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (INCLUDING DECELERATION SENSOR)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the yaw rate sensor (including deceleration sensor).
ABS/VSC/TRAC
OK:
Deceleration value must be changing.
OK -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR (INCLUDING DECELERATION SENSOR)
(a) Remove the console box and deceleration sensor.
(b) Connect 3 dry cell batteries of 1.5 V in series.
(c) Connect terminal 8 (VYS) to the batteries' positive (+) terminal and terminal 5 (GYAW) to the batteries' negative (-) terminal.
NOTE:
Do not apply voltage of 6 V or more to terminals 8 (VYS) and 5 (GYAW).
(d) Measure the voltage when the sensor is tilted forward and rearward.
Standard voltage:
HINT:
- If the sensor is tilted too much, it may output the wrong value.
- If the voltage is out of the specification, replace the sensor with a new one.
- When replacing the sensor, do not place the sensor upside down.
NG -- REPLACE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SKID CONTROL ECU - YAW RATE SENSOR)
(a) Disconnect the S6 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the Y1 sensor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
