DTC C0279/12 - Short to B+ in ABS Solenoid Relay Circuit
DESCRIPTION
This relay supplies power to each ABS solenoid. After the ignition switch is turned ON, if the initial check is OK, the relay turns on.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: When using the Techstream, start from*1. When not using the Techstream, start from*2.
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ABS SOL RELAY)*1
(a) Using the Techstream Active Test, generate a control command and then check that the ABS solenoid relay operates.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
OK:
Operation sound of ABS SOL relay can be heard.
OK -- INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT ABS SOL RELAY*2
(a) Remove the ABS SOL relay from the engine room No. 2 relay block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the relay.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE ABS SOL RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ABS SOL RELAY - SKID CONTROL ECU AND BATTERY)
(a) Remove the ABS SOL relay from the engine room No. 2 relay block.
(b) Disconnect the S8 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the voltage of the connectors.
Standard voltage:
(d) Measure the resistance of the connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT BRAKE ACTUATOR
(a) Disconnect the B1 and B2 actuator connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance of the actuator.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (BRAKE ACTUATOR - ABS SOL RELAY)
(a) Disconnect the B1 actuator connector.
(b) Remove the ABS SOL relay from the engine room No. 2 relay block.
(c) Measure the resistance of the connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BRAKE ACTUATOR)
(a) Disconnect the S5 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the B2 actuator connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- CHECK EACH CONNECTION IF SAME CODE IS STILL OUTPUT AFTER DTC DELETION (IF CONNECTOR IS NORMAL, SKID CONTROL ECU MAY BE DEFECTIVE)
