DTC B2611 - Telescopic Position Sensor or Telescopic Motor Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION





The telescopic motor is powered by voltage supplied from the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU, and makes the steering column slide forward and rearward. The telescopic position sensor in the ECU detects the forward and rearward sliding position of the steering column and outputs a signal to the CPU.
HINT: Limit positions can be confirmed on the screen of the handheld tester.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (TELESCOPIC MOTOR)
(a) Select the Active Test, use Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the telescopic motor operates.

Multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU





OK:
Steering wheel moves toward or away from driver depending on command.
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT TILT STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR (TELESCOPIC MOTOR)




(a) Disconnect connector A from the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the telescopic motor connector and check the operation of the column.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE TILT STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WITH MOTOR
OK -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX TILT AND TELESCOPIC ECU
