INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: If DTCs B2508 and B2539 are output simultaneously, the luggage door drive motor LH circuit may be open. Perform troubleshooting of DTC B2508 first.
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE MOTOR PULSE LH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage door drive gear LH.
Retractable Hardtop
OK:
Value between 12288 to 20480 appears on the screen.
NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR LH)
(a) Disconnect the S17 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L17 gear connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (PULSE CIRCUIT OPERATION)
(a) Remove the luggage door drive gear RH Removal.
(b) Connect the electrical tester's positive (+) lead to terminal 5 and negative (-) lead to terminal 4.
(c) Connect 5 1.5 V dry cell batteries in series.
(d) Connect terminal 6 to the dry cell batteries' positive (+) terminal, and terminal 4 to the dry cell batteries' negative (-) terminal.
(e) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1, and negative (-) lead to terminal 3.
(f) Check the output voltage of terminals 4 and 5.
OK:
Pulse is generated while motor is running (refer to the graph)
(g) Reverse the polarity of terminals 1 and 3.
(h) Check the output voltage of terminals 4 and 5.
OK:
Pulse is generated while motor running (refer to the graph)
NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
