DTC B2535 - Tonneau Cover Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

Turning the tonneau cover switch ON permits the luggage door to start opening. Therefore, pressing the roof control switch with the tonneau cover switch OFF causes the indicator to blink.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TONNEAU COVER)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the tonneau cover.

OK:
On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (TONNEAU COVER SWITCH)




(a) Remove the tonneau cover switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - LIMIT SWITCH (TONNEAU COVER))




(a) Disconnect the S17 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L14 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
