DTC B2533 - Package Tray Switch No. 2 Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The package tray switch is located at the bottom of the package tray link.
The package tray switch detects whether the package tray opening position (Close 1, close 2 and open position).
The package tray switch is turned ON when the sliding roof is fully closed and turned OFF when it is fully open.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 2)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the package tray No. 2.

OK:
On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 2)
(a) Remove the slide roof limit switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 2))
(a) Disconnect the S17 and S18 ECU connectors.
(b) Disconnect the L29 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK PACKAGE TRAY TRIM OPERATION
(a) Disconnect the P8 tray motor connector.
(b) Half open the roof to the position where it does not interfere with the package tray trim by manual operation Manual Open Operation.
(c) Apply battery voltage to the tray motor terminal and check operation of the package tray trim.
OK:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM MECHANICAL
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH OPERATION (PACKAGE TRAY NO. 2)
(a) Disconnect the P8 tray motor connector.
(b) Disconnect the L29 switch connector.
(c) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Check the limit switch (package tray No. 2) resistance.
Standard resistance:
10 kOhms or higher -> Below 1 Ohms -> 10 kOhms or higher -> Below 1Ohms
(d) Reverse the polarity, and then check the limit switch (package tray No. 2) resistance.
Standard resistance:
10 kOhms or higher -> Below 1 Ohms -> 10 kOhms or higher -> Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
