DTC B2531 - Luggage Door Open Switch Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The luggage door open switch is located at the bottom of the luggage link.
The luggage door open switch detects if the luggage door is fully open.
The luggage door open switch is turned ON when the luggage door is fully closed and turned OFF when it is fully open.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Continuously repeating the roof open/close operation may stop the motor operation due to a function of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor. However, this is not a malfunction.
PROCEDURE
1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LUGGAGE DOOR OPEN, CLOSE)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the luggage door open.

OK:
On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (LUGGAGE DOOR OPEN)
(a) Remove the limit switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - LIMIT SWITCH (LUGGAGE DOOR OPEN))
(a) Disconnect the S18 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L4 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK LIMIT SWITCH OPERATION (LUGGAGE DOOR OPEN)
(a) Disconnect the L4 switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch while manually operating the luggage door.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPLACE LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
