DTC B2524 - Roof Position Switch No. 2 Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The roof position switch is located at the bottom of the roof link.
The roof position switch detects the roof panel position (Position 2).
The roof position switch is turned ON when the roof is fully closed and turned OFF when it is fully open.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ROOF POSITION NO. 2)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the roof position No. 2.

OK:
On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (ROOF POSITION NO. 2)




(a) Remove the slide roof limit switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (ROOF POSITION NO. 2))




(a) Disconnect the S18 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L13 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH OPERATION (ROOF POSITION NO. 2)




(a) Disconnect the L13 switch connector.
(b) While manually operating the roof, measure the resistance of the switch Manual Open Operation.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
