DTC B2520 - Roof Lock Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The roof lock switch is located at the roof lock portion of the roof panel front edge.
The roof lock switch detects the lock/unlock condition of the roof header lock when the roof panel is fully closed and the lock/unlock condition of the roof holding when the roof panel is fully open.
The roof lock switch is turned ON when the roof lock is locked and turned OFF when it is unlocked.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (ROOF LOCK)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the roof lock.

OK:
On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT SLIDE ROOF RAIL ASSEMBLY




(a) Remove the slide roof limit switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (ROOF LOCK)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH (ROOF LOCK))




(a) Disconnect the S17 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L10 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT REMOVABLE ROOF LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY




(a) Disconnect the roof lock motor connector Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the lock terminals and check operation of the removable roof lock.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE REMOVABLE ROOF LOCK SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK SLIDE ROOF LIMIT SWITCH OPERATION (ROOF LOCK)




(a) Disconnect the roof lock motor connector.
(b) Disconnect the L10 switch connector.
(c) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
(d) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:





(e) Reverse the polarity.
(f) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SWITCH BEZEL
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
