DTC B2511 - Open in Roof Lock Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

By operating the roof lock motor, the header lock function can be locked or unlocked when the roof panel is fully closed; and also the roof retaining function can be locked or unlocked when the roof panel is fully opened.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Continuously repeating the roof open/close operation may stop the motor operation due to a function of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor. However, this is not a malfunction.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT FUSE (P-TRAY)
(a) Remove the P-TRAY fuse from the luggage room junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY (ROOF LOCK MOTOR OPERATION)




(a) Remove the sliding roof drive gear Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the sliding roof drive gear.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT (ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR (ROOF LOCK MOTOR))




(a) Disconnect the S19 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the R18 drive gear connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
