DTC B2510 - Short in Pulse Width Modulation Motor LH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The pulse width modulation motor circuit includes the roof drive motor, luggage door drive motor and luggage closer motor.
The sliding roof control ECU drives these motors using this same circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (ROOF DRIVE MOTOR LH OPERATION)




(a) Remove the sliding roof drive gear LH Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the sliding roof drive gear LH.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE MOTOR LH)




(a) Remove the luggage door drive gear LH Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the luggage door drive gear LH.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (CLOSER MOTOR LH OPERATION)




(a) Remove the luggage closer motor LH Disassembly.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the motor terminals and check operation of the luggage closer motor LH.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR LH)




(a) Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the R16 drive gear connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (ECU - LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR LH)




(a) Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L17 drive gear connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (ECU - LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR LH)




(a) Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the L15 motor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
