INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Continuously repeating the roof open/close operation may stop the motor operation due to a function of the positive temperature coefficient thermistor. However, this is not a malfunction.
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT FUSE (ROOF LH)
(a) Remove the ROOF LH fuse from the luggage room junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (ROOF DRIVE MOTOR LH)
(a) Remove the sliding roof drive gear LH Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the sliding roof drive gear LH.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR OPEN CIRCUIT (ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR LH)
(a) Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the R16 drive gear connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
