DTC B2503 - Short in Roof Drive Motor LH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

With the roof control switch being pressed, the sliding roof control ECU operates the roof panel, luggage door and package tray (in that order).
The ECU operates the roof panel while adjusting the speed of the left and right motors.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (ROOF DRIVE MOTOR LH)




(a) Remove the sliding roof drive gear LH Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the drive gear terminals and check operation of the sliding roof drive gear LH.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS FOR SHORT CIRCUIT (ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR LH)




(a) Disconnect the S21 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the R16 drive gear connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU
