DESCRIPTION

The leveling actuator receives the signal from the AFS ECU to operate. The AFS ECU receives signals regarding the operating conditions of the leveling actuator.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL ACTUATOR)
(a) Select the ACTIVE TEST, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the headlight beam level control actuator operates.

OK:
headlight beam leveling control actuator operates.
OK -- REPLACE AFS ECU
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - ACTUATOR)




(a) Disconnect the H1*1 or H2*2 actuator connector.
HINT:
*1: LH
*2: RH
(b) Disconnect the A30 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:
LH





RH





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (HEADLIGHT BEAM LEVEL CONTROL ACTUATOR)




(a) Remove the headlight unit.
(b) Measure the resistance of the unit.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE AFS ECU
