DTC B1442/42 - Air Inlet Damper Control Servo Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The recirculation damper servo is controlled by the A/C amplifier, and the A/C amplifier moves the recirculation damper servo to the desired position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (AIR INLET DAMPER POSITION)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the air inlet damper position.

Air Conditioner





OK:
The display is as specified in the normal condition.

Result:





C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTUATOR CHECK (RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO)
(a) Remove the glove box and visually check the recirculation damper servo operation.
(b) Enter actuator check mode Actuator Check.
(c) Press the UP driver temperature switch to change to the step operation.
(d) Press the UP driver temperature switch to check the recirculation damper servo operation.






OK:
Recirculation damper position changes in accordance with each display code.

Result:





C -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
B -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
A -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY




(a) Remove the damper servo.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the servo and check that the servo rotates smoothly.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RECIRCULATION DAMPER SERVO - A/C AMPLIFIER)




(a) Disconnect the A16 servo connector.
(b) Disconnect the A8 amplifier connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
