DTC B1244 - Light Sensor Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when a failure of the light control sensor circuit is detected.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OPERATION (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and Techstream main switch ON.
(c) Check that the value of the illumination rate changes in the following range when the light sensor is put in the light or covered by a hand.
OK:
0.008 to 0.022 seconds
HINT:
- This is the time taken for the light sensor to generate one cycle of frequency according to the brightness.
- When not using Techstream, refer to the following procedures On-Vehicle Inspection.

NG -- REPLACE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECU - SENSOR)




(a) Disconnect the D5 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the A26 sensor connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK
