Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Anchor does not Operate Manually

DESCRIPTION

When the up or down switch of the shoulder belt anchorage switch is pressed, an UP or DOWN signal is sent to the front door ECU RH. Then the signal is sent to the rear junction block ECU through CAN communication. Based on the received signal, the rear junction block ECU operates the shoulder belt anchor motor RH and moves the shoulder belt anchor RH up or down.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH RH)
(a) Check the Data List for proper functioning of the shoulder belt anchorage switch.

Passenger Door





OK:
Data List display changes correctly according to switch operation.
NG -- INSPECT SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH RH
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR MOTOR RH




(a) Disconnect the R8 anchor connector.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the shoulder belt anchor motor.
(c) Check the motor operation.
OK:






NG -- REPLACE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR MOTOR RH
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR MOTOR - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)




(a) Disconnect the R8 anchor connector.
(b) Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
4. INSPECT SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH RH




(a) Disconnect the P1 switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH RH
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH - FRONT DOOR ECU)




(a) Disconnect the P1 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the P4 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU RH
