SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY Removal
2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH Removal
4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal
6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE
(a) for Standard Body:
(1) Remove the rear door scuff plate ( Removal).
(b) for Long Body:
(1) Remove the rear door scuff plate ( Removal).
7. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER Removal
8. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH UPPER Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT SHOULDER BELT GUIDE
(a) Remove the 2 screws and belt guide.
10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the nut and shoulder anchor.
(b) Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration labeled A.
(c) Disconnect the tension reducer connector labeled B.
(d) W/ Pre-collision system:
Disconnect the pre-collision connector labeled C.
(e) Remove the 2 bolts and seat belt.
