Fuel Injector (for Port Injection)
1UR-FSE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR (for Port Injection): INSPECTION
INSPECTION
1. INSPECT FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the resistance of the injector.
(1) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the injector.
(b) Inspect the injection volume.
CAUTION:
This test involves high-pressure fuel and electricity. Take all precautions regarding safe handling of both the fuel and electricity components. Perform this test in a safe area, and avoid any sparks or flames. Do not smoke.
(1) Remove the fuel pipe clamp.
(2) Disconnect the fuel tube.
NOTE:
Do not use any tools in this procedure.
HINT: If the connector and tube are stick, pinch the connector and push and pull the tube to disconnect them.
(3) Connect SST to the vehicle side fuel pipe.
SST: 09268-31012

(4) Install a new the O-ring to the fuel injector.
(5) Install SST and the tube to the fuel injector.

(6) Put the injector into a graduated cylinder.
CAUTION:
Install a strong rubber tube onto the injector to prevent gasoline from splashing.
(7) Operate the fuel pump (turn the engine switch on (IG)).
(8) Connect SST (wire) to the injector and the battery for 15 seconds, and measure the injection volume with the graduated cylinder. Test each injector 2 or 3 times.
SST: 09842-30090
Standard injection volume:
84 to 102 cc (5.1 to 6.2 cu. in.) per 15 seconds
Difference between each injector: 18 cc (1.1 cu. in.) or less
If the injection volume is not as specified, replace the injector.
(c) Check for leakage.
(1) In the condition above, disconnect the tester probes of SST (wire) from the battery and check for fuel leakage from the injector.
Standard fuel drop:
1 drop or less in 20 minutes
