Mute Signal Circuit between Disc Player Controller and Multi-display Controller
DESCRIPTION
The multi-display controller controls the volume according to the mute signal from the disc player.
The mute signal is sent to reduce noise and a popping sound generated when switching the mode, etc.
HINT: Only vehicles with a disc player have this circuit.

1. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER
(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISC PLAYER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER)
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DISC PLAYER - MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER)
(a) Disconnect the R16 player connector.
(b) Disconnect the R32 controller connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER
(a) Reconnect the R32 controller connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY CONTROLLER
OK -- REPLACE DISC PLAYER
