DTC C1622/5C-40 - Open or Short in Back Camera Signal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the parking assist ECU's self-diagnosis determines that the input/output signal communication with the television camera assembly is malfunctioning, this DTC is output.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
When replacing the parking assist ECU, perform initialization of the television camera and calibration of the steering angle sensor and height control sensor.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Clear the DTCs Advanced Parking Guidance System.
(b) Check for DTCs Advanced Parking Guidance System.

2. CHECK TELEVISION CAMERA




(a) Check the waveform of the television camera using an oscilloscope.

OK:
Pulses as shown in the illustration.
(b) Disconnect the S35 camera connector.
(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - CAMERA)




(a) Disconnect the L91 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the S35 camera connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE PARKING ASSIST ECU
