DTC 3-1 - GPS Antenna Error

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) the mayday ECU is malfunctioning; or 2) the telephone antenna (GPS antenna) is malfunctioning; or 3) the antenna cord is malfunctioning.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT TELEPHONE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (GPS ANTENNA) AND ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY




(a) Disconnect the antenna connector from the ECU.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






OK -- CHECK MAYDAY ECU (OPERATION)
NG -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY




(a) Disconnect the antenna cord connector from the ECU.
(b) Disconnect the antenna cord connector from the telephone antenna.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY THEN CLEAR HISTORIC DTC
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK MAYDAY ECU (OPERATION)
(a) Temporarily replace the mayday ECU and mayday battery with a new one.
(b) Check for the current DTC again Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
System operates normally (red LED off).
NG:
Current DTC 3-1 exists.
NG -- REPLACE TELEPHONE ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (GPS ANTENNA) THEN CLEAR HISTORIC DTC
OK -- END (MAYDAY ECU IS FAULTY; PERFORM REGISTRATION)
