DTC B2063 - Buckle Switch Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

- This circuit consists of the front seat inner belt assembly RH, front seat inner belt assembly LH, center airbag sensor assembly, occupant classification ECU and seat belt control ECU.
- When the driver side seat belt is fastened to the front seat inner belt assembly LH, the center airbag sensor assembly detects malfunctions in the circuit.
- When the passenger side seat belt is fastened to the front seat inner belt assembly RH, the occupant classification ECU detects malfunctions in the circuit.
- The center airbag sensor assembly sends information about the seat belt fastened/unfastened condition and circuit malfunctions through CAN communication to the seat belt control ECU.
- The seat belt control ECU uses information from the center airbag sensor assembly to control the pre-collision system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, INITIALIZATION must be performed Pre-Collision System.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.
(b) Recheck for DTCs.
OK:
CAN communication system DTC is not output.
NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (AIRBAG SYSTEM)
(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG), and wait at least 60 seconds.
(c) Check DTC for airbag system DTC Check / Clear.
OK:
DTC B1650 or B1655 is not output.
NG -- GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM (B1650, B1655)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM)
(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Check DTC for occupant classification system Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
OK:
DTC B1771 is not output.
NG -- GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (B1771)
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM)
HINT:
Before clearing the DTC B2063, first clear the DTCs of the occupant detection ECU, then clear the DTCs of the center airbag sensor assembly.
(a) Clear the DTCs Pre-Collision System.
(b) Recheck for DTCs.
OK:
DTC B2063 is not output.
NG -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION)
