POWER STEERING: POWER STEERING ECU: REMOVAL
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE BATTERY
(a) Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.
NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
(b) Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.
(c) Remove the nut and the battery clamp.
(d) Remove the battery insulator.
(e) Remove the battery.
2. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY SUPPORT NO. 1
3. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the ground cable terminal from the power steering ECU.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and separate the power steering ECU from the battery tray.
(c) Pull out the lock of the power steering ECU connector on the left side of the vehicle, and release it.
(d) Release the lock lever of the connector as shown in the illustration, and disconnect the connector from the power steering ECU.
(e) Pull out the lock of the power steering ECU connector on the right side of the vehicle, and release it.
(f) Release the lock lever of the connector as shown in the illustration.
(g) Disconnect the connector and remove the power steering ECU from the vehicle.
