2GR-FSE STARTING: STARTER: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the starter with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 58 Nm (591 kgf-cm, 43 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the starter cable with the nut, and then attach the terminal cap.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
(c) Connect the starter connector.
2. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install a new gasket.

(b) Install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head with the 6 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque: 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
NOTE:
Do not damage the stud bolt when installing the exhaust manifold.

(d) Install the engine wire bracket with the bolt.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
(e) Install the ground cable with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf) for Cylinder head
Torque: 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf) for Body
3. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the front exhaust pipe Installation.
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS Installation
6. INSTALL FRONT PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)
7. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH (for 2WD)
8. INSTALL REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH (for 2WD)
9. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD) Installation
10. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 4WD)
11. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER (for 2WD)
12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for 4WD)
(a) Install the front seat LH Installation.
13. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX (for 4WD) Installation
14. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) Installation
15. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX PLATE Installation
16. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH Installation
17. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH Installation
18. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL ASSEMBLY Installation
19. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH Installation
20. CONNECT NO. 2 RELAY BLOCK

(a) Connect the No. 2 relay block with the bolt and nut.
Torque: 12 Nm (125 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
21. INSTALL V-BANK COVER Installation
22. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH Installation
23. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH Installation
24. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Installation
25. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization Repair Instruction - Initialization.
NOTE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
