DTC B2000 - Short to B+ in Seat Belt Motor RH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU receives information from the seat belt control ECU (distance control ECU) through CAN communication and tightens the seat belt by operating the motor in the front seat outer belt assembly RH.
CAUTION:
The pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly RH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may activate the pretensioner.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE:
When the seat belt control ECU is replaced with a new one, Active Test must be performed. Pre-Collision System

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH - SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU)




(a) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal battery.
(b) Disconnect the U8 connectors seat belt control ECU and front seat outer belt assembly RH.
(c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery.
(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage :





(e) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
(a) Disconnect the U8 connectors seat belt control ECU and front seat outer belt assembly RH.




(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH
OK -- REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
