Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Anchor does not Operate Manually

DESCRIPTION

When the shoulder belt anchorage switch's UP or DOWN switch are pressed, an UP or DOWN signal is sent to the front door ECU RH. Then the signal is sent to the rear junction block ECU through CAN communication. Based on the received signal, the rear junction block ECU moves the shoulder belt anchor RH up or down.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH RH)
(a) Check the DATA LIST for proper functioning of the shoulder belt anchorage switch.
(1) Intelligent tester

Passenger door:





OK:
Switch operates
NG -- CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR RH
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH RH





(a) Disconnect the P1 switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE SHOULDER BELT ANCHORAGE SWITCH RH
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ANCHORAGE SWITCH - FRONT DOOR ECU)





(a) Disconnect the P1 switch connector.
(b) Disconnect the P4 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE FRONT DOOR ECU RH
4. CHECK SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR RH





(a) Disconnect the R8 anchor connector.
(b) Connect the battery's positive lead to terminal 3 of the shoulder belt anchor RH, and the battery's negative lead to terminal 4. Check that the motor operates.
OK:
Motor moves downward.
(c) Connect the battery's positive lead to terminal 4 of the shoulder belt anchor RH, and the battery's negative lead to terminal 3. Check that the motor operates.
OK:
Motor moves upward.
NG -- REPLACE SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR RH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ANCHORAGE - REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)





(a) Disconnect the R8 anchor connector.
(b) Disconnect the S62 ECU connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
