Brake Pedal Load Sensing Switch - Vehicle Stability Control System (w/ VDIM)

BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM (w/ VDIM): C1267/67: Brake Pedal Load Sensing Switch

DTC C1267/67 - Brake Pedal Load Sensing Switch

DESCRIPTION

The brake pedal load sensing switch is turned on when the brake pedal is depressed with force exceeding a predetermined level.
The skid control ECU detects if the brake pedal is depressed or not via this circuit.

WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the skid control ECU, perform zero point calibration and store system information Vehicle Stability Control System (W/ VDIM).

HINT: If C1249/49 is output, repair it before repairing C1267/67 based on the flow chart below.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (BRAKE PEDAL LOAD SENSING SWITCH)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Select the Data List mode on Techstream.

ABS / VSC / TRAC:

(d) Read the value of the brake pedal load sensing switch displayed on Techstream when depressing and releasing the brake pedal.
OK:

OK -- RECONFIRM DTC
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT BRAKE PEDAL LOAD SENSING SWITCH

NOTICE:
- Do not remove the brake pedal load sensing switch from the brake pedal sub-assembly.
- When there is a malfunction in the brake pedal load sensing switch, replace the brake pedal sub-assembly.
(a) Turn the engine switch off.
(b) Disconnect the brake pedal load sensing switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE BRAKE PEDAL SUB-ASSEMBLY (BRAKE PEDAL LOAD SENSING SWITCH)
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BRAKE PEDAL LOAD SENSING SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Reconnect the skid control ECU connector and the brake pedal load sensing switch connector.
(b) Clear the DTC Vehicle Stability Control System (w/ VDIM).
(c) Check if the same DTC is recorded Vehicle Stability Control System (w/ VDIM).
Result:

B -- REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU
A -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK
