Applicability

The information contained in this TSB supersedes TSB No. AC001-07.

Applicability has been updated with the addition of the following models: 2007 model year LS 460, 2008 model year GS 350, GS 450h, GS 460, IS F, IS 250, IS 350, LS 460, and LS 600h.

TSB No. AC001-07 is Obsolete and any printed versions should be discarded. Be sure to review the entire content of this service bulletin before proceeding.

Introduction

Use the following procedure to properly install a replacement air conditioning filter.

Improper installation of the air conditioning filter may cause damage to the HVAC blower unit.

Repair Procedure

1. Set the air conditioning system to the RECIRCULATE mode.

The air conditioning filter case CANNOT be removed with the system in the OUTSIDE AIR mode.


2. Turn the engine switch OFF.





3. Open the glove box and remove the partition.





4. Remove the filter cover.





5. Remove the filter case.





6. Remove the air conditioning filter from the filter case and replace it with a NEW one. The "UP" marks shown on the filter and filter case should be pointing up.

CHANGING INTERVAL

Inspect and replace the air conditioning filter according to the maintenance schedule. In dusty areas or areas with heavy traffic flow, early replacement may be required. (For scheduled maintenance information, refer to the Owner's Manual Scheduled Maintenance.)

IMPORTANT
When using the air conditioning system:

^ Make sure that a filter is ALWAYS installed.

^ Using the air conditioning system without a filter may cause damage to the system.

7. Reassemble the filter case, filter cover, and glove box partition.

Make sure that all tabs on the filter case are installed properly BEFORE reassembling.

8. Confirm proper operation of the air conditioning system.
