DTC U0101 - Lost Communication with TCM

DESCRIPTION

The ECM (engine control unit) and the TCM (transmission control unit) are located inside the ECM. The ECM intercommunicates with the TCM through the CAN (controller area network).
If there is a problem in this intercommunication, the ECM sets the DTC.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC U0101)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
(e) Read DTCs.
