DTC P0607 - Control Module Performance

DESCRIPTION

The ECM continuously monitors its main and sub CPUs. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. If outputs from the CPUs are different and deviate from the standards, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and set the DTC immediately.
The ECM also monitors the cruise control cancel circuit. If this circuit malfunctions, the ECM will set the DTC immediately (MIL is not illuminated).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK DTC
(a) Clear DTC DTC Check / Clear.
(b) Turn the engine switch off.
(c) Disconnect the battery negative terminal and wait for 1 minute.
(d) Connect the battery negative terminal.
(e) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(f) Check DTC.
OK:
P0607 is not present.
NG -- REPLACE ECM
OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
