FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER
5. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
10. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY FRONT LH




a. Using a screwdriver, pry out the front seat belt hole cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Using a screwdriver, pry out the lap belt outer anchor cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

c. for Passenger Side: Disconnect the connector and clamp.
d. Remove the anchor's built-in bolt from the main floor side member.




e. Remove the 6 screws and clip.
f. Using a screwdriver, pry out the quarter trim panel.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH




a. Remove the anchors built-in bolt from the center body pillar inner.
b. Disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and outer belt.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

NOTE: Do not disassemble the retractor.

a. Install the retractor with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 7.5 N.m (77 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf) for upper bolt
42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) for lower bolt

b. Connect the pretensioner connector.
c. Install the seat belt anchors built-in bolt to the center body pillar inner.

Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

2. INSTALL QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY FRONT LH

a. Install the quarter trim panel with the 6 screws and clips.
b. Install the front seat belt hole cover.
c. for Passenger Side: Attach the connector and clamp.
d. Install the seat belt anchors built-in bolt.

Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

e. Install the lap belt outer anchor cover.

3. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
4. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE
7. INSTALL WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER
9. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
