Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
a. Remove the 2 nuts and cover.

2. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Remove the bolt and inlet.

3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
a. Disconnect the air hose and ventilation hose.
b. Loosen the 2 hose clamps.
c. Remove the bolt and intake air connector.

4. REMOVE VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the valve.
b. Remove ventilation valve cover.




c. Remove the valve.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL VENTILATION VALVE SUB-ASSEMBLY




a. Install the valve.

1. Apply adhesive to 2 or 3 threads.

Adhesive: Toyota genuine adhesive 1324, three bond 1324 or equivalent




2. Install the valve.

Torque: 27 N.m(275 kgf.cm, 20 ft.lbf)

HINT: After applying the specified torque, rotate the valve clockwise with the port facing the direction shown in the illustration.




b. Install the ventilation valve cover.




c. Connect the hose to the valve.

2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
a. Connect the air hose and ventilation hose.
b. Install the bolt and intake air connector pipe with the bolt.

Torque: 5.0 N.m(51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

c. Tighten the 2 hose clamps.

3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Install the inlet with the bolt.

Torque: 5.0 N.m(51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

4. INSTALL V-BANK COVER
a. Install the cover with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m(51 kgf.cm, 44 ft.lbf)
