Heated Oxygen Sensor (For Sensor 1)

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER
a. Remove the 18 bolts, 5 clips and under cover.

3. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
a. Remove the 5 bolts and under cover.

4. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)
a. Disconnect the sensor connector.
b. Using SST, remove the sensor.

5. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)




a. Disconnect the sensor clamp.
b. Disconnect the sensor connector.




c. Using SST, remove the sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1)




a. Using SST, install the sensor.

Torque:
40 N.m(408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) for use with SST
44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) for use without SST

b. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2)




a. Using SST, install the sensor.

Torque:
40 N.m(408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf) for use with SST
44 N.m (449 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) for use without SST

b. Connect the sensor connector.

3. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER
a. Install the under cover with the 18 bolts and 5 clips.

4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
a. Install the under cover with the 5 bolts.

5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
