Front Axle Hub Bolt

FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT

COMPONENTS:





REPLACEMENT

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
^ A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL





2. DISCONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the brake cylinder from the steering knuckle.
(b) Support the brake cylinder securely.
3. REMOVE FRONT BRAKE DISC





4. REMOVE FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT
(a) Temporarily install 2 nuts to the hub bolts as shown in the illustration.
(b) Using SST and a brass bar or equivalent to hold the axle shaft, remove the hub bolt.

5. INSTALL FRONT AXLE HUB BOLT
(a) Temporarily install a plate washer and nut to a new hub bolt as shown in the illustration.
(b) Using a brass bar or an equivalent to hold the axle, install the hub bolt by torquing the nut. Then remove the nut and plate washer.
(c) Remove the 2 nuts temporarily installed above.
6. INSTALL FRONT BRAKE DISC
7. CONNECT FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the brake cylinder to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 118 N*m (1,203 kgf*cm, 87 ft.*lbf)
8. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
(a) Install the front wheel with the 5 nuts.
Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
