Removal and Replacement
Condenser:
CONDENSER
REMOVAL
1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
3. REMOVE NO.1 AIR CLEANER INLET
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
5. DISCONNECT NO.1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose from the cooler condenser.
b. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose.
NOTE: Keep the system free from moisture or foreign matter.
HINT: Cover the openings of the hoses with vinyl tape immediately after disconnecting.
6. DISCONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE A
a. Remove the bolt and disconnect the liquid pipe from the cooler condenser.
b. Remove the O-ring from the liquid pipe.
NOTE: Keep the system free from moisture or foreign matter.
HINT: Cover the openings of the hoses with vinyl tape immediately after disconnecting.
7. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 radiator upper supports.
b. Remove the 2 bolts. Then slide the upper part of the radiator rearward to remove the cooler condenser.
c. Remove the bolt and bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the bracket to the cooler condenser with the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
b. Insert the lower support on the lower side of the cooler condenser into the crossmember.
c. Install the cooler condenser with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
d. Install the radiator upper support to the upper part of the radiator with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
2. INSTALL COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE A
a. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the pipe and condenser.
b. Install a new O-ring to the liquid pipe.
c. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to the O-ring and pipe joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
d. Connect the liquid pipe to the cooler condenser with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf)
3. INSTALL NO.1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE
a. Remove the vinyl tape attached to the hose and connecting part of the cooler condenser.
b. Install a new O-ring to the discharge hose.
c. Sufficiently apply compressor oil to the O-ring and hose joint.
Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
d. Connect the discharge hose to the cooler condenser with the bolt.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 47 in.lbf)
4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL NO.1 AIR CLEANER INLET
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
7. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
8. CHARGE REFRIGERANT
9. WARM UP ENGINE
10. CHECK FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
